Import shader with tex files to another project.

posted Jun 22, 2012 15:27:42 by Mitras
First of all thanks for this scripts! This is a good idea. It's too bad that autodesk didnt created such thing in maya....
I think import from library to project with texture files will be usefull thing. Most of time i keep projects on server to use renderfarm, that's why all textures should be located in project on server. But when im importing shader form library, texture's path are located at local pc. Is it posible to import shader with textures to project (and if posible) with changed relative path in scene?
p.s. sory for bad english 8)

Hi , thanks for this note.
that's exactly what shadermonger does.

when you copy a shader from the project window to the "main library" , shadermonger edits your path. and does the same when imported into the scene.
it maintains the path to be local to the project and not the main library and copies all texture files into the shaderlib/textures/shadername/ folder under the project.

did you try it ?
